About this editorial team

Sophie De Clercq has tracked the Belgian market since 2021 and tries everything first-hand focused mainly on support and limits. Writes from Brugge.

How we test. we walk through registration ourselves, put an amount in via Bancontact, file a withdrawal request and measure it through to the account. Every operator goes past the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and recalculate the wagering requirement ourselves.

Our income comes from affiliate commissions; the verdict stays the same, commission or not. Even with a well-paying partner the verdict holds.

Player protection in numbers

On player protection, Belgium sits more tightly than the Netherlands or France with concrete consequences for your account. By default €200 per week per site may go in.

The EPIS system is the regulator's central exclusion list: after registration no licensed operator grants you access. The request goes through the regulator itself. Casino, gaming hall and sports betting are 21-and-over since 1 September 2024; the National Lottery is the exception at 18. The check is automatic.
